The client

Wakefield Museums and Castles are an endless source of fascinating stories. Across their six sites you can delve into history exploring tales about the caiman under the floor, learn all about naturalist Charles Waterton, discover their connection with liquorice and step back in time with the Romans.

Overarching identity

Development

We were tasked to develop a family suite of identities for three museums, two castles and a collections centre under the overarching Wakefield Museums & Castles brand, as well as providing a visual platform and guidelines for consistent application across each site.

Inspired by the rich heritage and wonderful stories at each site, we wanted each identity to be both relevant and inspiring whilst retaining a family feel.

A modern colour palette and font was chosen to complement the icons to attract new audiences.
