The Geographical Association (GA) has a mission to further the teaching of geography and to communicate the value of learning geography for all. The GA produces a wide range of learning materials and learning support for all levels of education.
The GA identified a need to redesign and redevelop their website and content management system, to give them the tools necessary to construct and manage a website containing a large amount of information in varying formats. In addition, the brief also required the development of an online shop, a members’-only resource section, and many other bespoke features and functions.
Ledgard Jepson have designed and developed a whole series of bespoke online systems to fulfil the many online requirements of the GA. Whilst considering the complete website specification, the many briefs have been dissected into separate functional entities which are then costed and defined as separate items. The GA are then presented with a list of development items (highlighting dependencies on other items when necessary) and costs, which they then prioritise and commission.
The GA website has grown into Ledgard Jepson’s largest-ever website, both in terms of volume and functionality. The continued methodical approach and consultation when developing new functions has ensured the integrity of the website structure and database design.
The National Health Service in Yorkshire and the Humber has become the latest high profile client for Ledgard Jepson.
