Michael Vaughan Cricket is a brand-new programme of camps for children which brings together technique and skills development with fun, games and competitions. Coaches help children develop at their own pace while encouraging them to extend their range of skills in an enjoyable team environment. The camps combine the best elements of a cricket school, summer camp and holiday club.
We were tasked to develop an identity which reflects the fun element of the programmes to both the parents and the children, and to build up the brand as a respected organisationwhich pays special attention to safety.
We realised that to develop the MVC brand to its full potential, we could not look at the identity as a singular entity. Obtaining imagery of the clubs would be expensive, so we used an illustrative approach which made developing the identity an easier task. Michael Vaughan’s name had become much more of a brand intself, since England won the Ashes in 200X, so the project was as much about building his brand as it was creating an identity for the cricket school.
